Male Comics Put on Their Big Girl Pants
This Mother’s Day, a new show comes to town that asks male comics to put on their ‘big girl pants’ when it comes to what they know about women. Local comedians Dree Friar and Lauren Dufault put a stop to the sausage fest with their female-friendly show, Big Girl Pants. Part game show and part stand up show, the hosts grill 2 male comics over woman-centered trivia as they battle for the chance to open for a female headliner.
“It puts more perspective in the laughter,” says Dufault, who started the show in Denver, CO, and recently transplanted to St Pete. “By making male comics fight for stage time, we turn the tables.” Definitely a way to both laugh and learn, the show promises a great night out while bringing about a little change.
The first show is happening Mother’s Day, May 9th at 7p. It’s hosted by Spitfire Comedy House in downtown St Pete’s ‘Grand Central’ district. Tickets are $15. You can call 727-329-6290 for more details and to reserve seats. Tickets and discounts for small groups are available at www.spitfirecomedy.com/pants.
