Spitfire Spotlight: Brian Roller
What's your day job?
AV Technician
Do you have any hobbies outside of improv?
Tabletop role play games like Dungeons and Dragons, video games, binge-watching TV.
What drew you to improv?
The thrill of the unknown. Every scene spins off in its own direction, and you have no idea where you'll wind up.
What do you like to do most on stage?
Gibberish and animal impressions.
What makes a good scene in your opinion?
Taking a patently ridiculous situation and treating it with sincerity.
What's the most memorable moment you've had at Spitfire?
In a rehearsal for "Over-dramatic Death" I pantomimed getting run over by a zamboni three times in a row.
How would you explain Spitfire shows to someone who's never been?
It's like a night of one-act plays except the entire cast are understudies attempting to ad-lib their way through a show they never read, and somehow it all makes sense.
How would you describe the Spitfire community in 5 words or less?
A gang of awesome insanity.
You can see Brian in Whose Line St Pete and Improvarama. Heβs also been in 3 First Dates and Game of Lesser Thrones.
